How it works.

Shop like you always do. Click through your portal as usual. The extension notices the click-out and starts recording.

It keeps the parts that matter. The click ID the portal's own system logged, the timestamps, the path from portal to checkout, and the order confirmation. By default the screenshot shows the order details and the site logo; the rest of the page is black. The exact list is in the privacy table below. All of it stays on your device. Look at the screenshot before you send it anywhere.

If the claim is declined, the file is ready. The extension reads your portal's activity page once a day and tells you the day a pending claim turns declined. You export the PDF and send it to the portal yourself. The click ID in it is the one in their own logs, so they can check it.
Before you pay, the extension icon shows whether the tracking chain is intact. If another extension overwrote your click, you find out while you can still go back and click through the portal again.

Two other modes in the extension's settings: Classic keeps the whole page and blacks out the card numbers, emails, UK postcodes and street addresses it recognises, plus payment and address fields; names, phone numbers and the rest stay visible in the screenshot and in any dispute PDF you send. | Your data, on our server | Your evidence never leaves your device. Four things do leave it. On Pro, your license key, when you activate, deactivate or the weekly check runs. On the free tier, the usage count: your portal account id once per account at your first signed-in click-out (the server keeps only a keyed hash of it), your browser's name and the extension's version when the install registers, then a random id for each bundle you save, reported at most daily and when you delete the record. The free-tier save count on our server is the only measure of use we have. The extension asks for access to the four cashback portals it supports and the affiliate networks their links pass through. You grant a store one purchase at a time, and the access is released when the purchase ends. A network you approve stays until you remove it. It never asks for "all sites".
It leaves your attribution alone. None of its permissions can change or block a web request; Chrome shows you the list when you install. It reads affiliate cookies to spot a hijack and never sets or removes one, and it has no affiliate links of its own to send you through.

FAQ
Which portals are supported at launch?

What if the portal says my record is fake?
It can say that. The packet doesn't force anything, and we won't pretend it does. What it has going for it is the click ID, which the portal's own tracking system generated when you clicked out. Their support can look that up in their own logs, so it stops being your word against theirs.
Do you get my password, or into my portal account?
No. It reads your portal pages inside your own browser, in the session you're already signed into, and it can't sign in as you. The only thing our server gets about a portal account is its account id, sent once; the server keeps a keyed hash of it, not the id, so the free tier can count saves per account. There is no Cashbackproof account to create.
What happens when a portal logs me out?
The daily check pauses and the icon asks you to sign back in. We'd rather it nag you than go anywhere near your password.
Who answers when something goes wrong?
We do. Email hello@cashbackproof.com and you'll hear back within 2 business days. If Pro isn't worth it to you, the refund is 14 days, no questions.
Why should I trust you over the last extension that burned everyone?
